Merry Christmas

JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!

Cliché?  Yes, but it’s so easy to forget in the hustle and bustle that has become the Christmas season, the real reason we celebrate together this time of the year.  Before I became a Christian, I used to think that this time of year was such an inconvenience—why in the world did I have to stop my normal day-to-day activities and then add on additional responsibilities of gift buying, house decorating and visiting with people I hadn’t seen in ages.  Why?  I really didn’t get it.
Praise God for opening my eyes to the truth of who He is through His Son, Jesus Christ!  Praise God that He chose to reconcile us back to Him through Jesus.  Praise God for His word-the Bible-that gives us a glimpse of our Mighty and Awesome Father in Heaven.  Praise God that when I surrendered my life to Christ, our Almighty God deposited His Holy Spirit inside of me—a spirit that guides me, comforts me, convicts me, and reminds me of the promises of God.  A Spirit that can never leave me.
Praise God for this time of year when the whole world sings songs of praise because it’s Christmas time...listen again to the words of “Hark the Herald Angels sing” and “Silent Night” and “O Come all ye Faithful and “Joy to the World.”  God created Christmas time to show us again what He did for us through His Son Jesus Christ—it’s us who have made it into something that’s not always about Jesus.
My prayer for you and your family is that you will all be able to take time to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas this year— That God so loved the world that He gave His only son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but will have eternal life.  John 3:16
I pray that the time you spend with your family and friends will be blessed abundantly more that you can ask or imagine.  I pray for reconciled relationships and hugs from friends and family you haven’t seen in a long time.  I pray that you all will take the time to search for and find the true reason for the season—Jesus Christ!

We exist to develop, empower and release the Body of Christ  to show His love  in times of crisis to multiply healthy churches among all peoples

Merry Christmas
from our Family to Yours...Much love to you all...From the Bogran’s

UPDATES, UPDATES, UPDATES!!!

TouchGlobal will be hosting teams again the week after Christmas and beyond.  We have started receiving spring break and summer applications as well.  We have beginning to receive applications for teams that will be going to Challenge Conference in New Orleans and staying with us either the week before or the week after-one team will be from Alaska and another from Hawaii!!!

With these and other teams committing to spend a mission week with us, it will mean a busy time in ministry, but more importantly, it will mean that homes will continue to be rebuilt and lives will continue to be touched and changed forever in the best way possible—changed forever with the everlasting hope that is only possible when you give your life to Jesus.

This ministry has far reaching influences—from the homeowners, their neighborhoods, the volunteers, and the churches that send them.  As other disasters happen in the United States, we are seeing more and more that the Body of Christ—made up of believers in local churches who have served with TouchGlobal are the ones who are stepping out of four walls of the church to serve their community in times of need.   Praise the Lord!

There is still much work to be done in New Orleans.  Will you consider joining us for a week...a week that will change your life completely!

Dorinda's Newsletter 11.22.11

OUR NAME HAS CHANGED!!!

Yep, that’s right.  There is a rebranding effort going on in the ministry right now.  We have formerly been known by a variety of names, including Compassion, Crisis Response, TouchGlobal Crisis Response, EFCA TouchGlobal Crisis Response and all sorts of variations in between.  Going forward, we are going to be called:

TouchGlobal,
the crisis response ministry of the EFCA

In a short while, we will drop the tag and just become

TouchGlobal

We are still the same ministry touching lives by showing the love of Christ to those in need in the mission field that follows a crisis.  We will still be asking God to send volunteers to serve those in need; we will still be hosting those volunteers at various locations; we will still be rebuilding lives as we rebuild homes; we will still be restoring the body of the churches affected by disasters; we will still be making disciples and establishing reproducing faith communities with our excellent relational ministry team; we will still be transforming volunteers; we will still be impacting sending churches and the communities they serve and we will still be seeking the Lord’s will as to how He would want us to serve Him through TouchGlobal.

Other updates:

100% supported for 100% of staff by the end of the year!!!

That’s our miracle prayer for the last couple of months of this year.  Most of our staff has set our alarms on our cell phones to go off at noon everyday.  At that time we stop and pray for our Ministry partnership development opportunities.  We are praying for 100% support for all of our staff by the end of the year so we can all hit the ground running at the beginning of the year to continue the work that God has for us in the ministry.  Will you join us at noon everyday to pray our miracle prayer?  Will you consider becoming a partner with the ministry by supporting someone on staff?  Ask our Almighty Father in heaven how He would have you support our efforts with TouchGlobal, the crisis response ministry of the EFCA.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

I pray that each and everyone of you and all of your family will be blessed immeasurable more than we can ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.  To Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen  (Ephesians 3:20-21)
